The school year is about to be over. Graduations have been happening left and right. We have had a lot to celebrate in our students' lives. Just because the school year is about to end doesn't mean we don't have more to celebrate. The best part is we can send kudos to a former student—a former Amarillo great athlete.

I am talking about Ziggy Hood. There is so much to cheer him on for. Did you know that he is about to be inducted into the Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame? That is a big honor. He had a very successful NFL career with five different teams.

He started that career in Pittsburgh. Did you know that he was the first player from the Texas Panhandle to be selected in the first round of the draft? That speaks volumes. Now Ziggy is back home and coaching where it all started at Palo Duro High.

They are proud to have him and want to make sure that you are part of the induction process at the Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame:

Any Amarillo athlete should make sure they are in attendance. Everyone can learn from this success story. There is so much to learn from what he went through and the importance of coming home.

Congratulations to Ziggy and the whole Palo Duro High School Family. You have definitely made the Texas Panhandle proud. An induction into the Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame is the next stop on the Ziggy train.
