Amarillo Fire Marshal Scam

I never thought I'd see the day when someone chose the Amarillo Fire Marshal for a scam, but that day has officially arrived. The Amarillo Fire Department said they're receiving reports that the Amarillo Fire Marshal is reaching out to them about financial info.

The scam involves someone from the Amarillo Fire Marshal's office reaching out and inquiring about cash deposits and money that had been left on-site during normal business hours. This is when they solicit your financial info, which would allow them access to your financial institutions' info.

This Is What To Do If You Get This Call

First off, it's important to understand that the Amarillo Fire Marshal's office or fire department would NEVER solicit you for any of your financial info. They have absolutely zero need for it.

If you get one of these calls or someone comes to you personally, always verify their credentials. Don't disclose ANY financial info to the person. Again, someone from the fire department would never ask for it.

Report the encounter by calling the fire department at (806) 378-4238. Lastly, make sure you document everything. Date, time, name used, number they called from, or the vehicle they were driving if it was an in-person encounter.

Take A Tour: Adorable Texas Home Is Actually Site Of Infamous Slaying

This is the former home of the "Blue Eyed Butcher". The details of this case would rock Houston- and appear in several television shows and even a movie.
