Big Jim’s Pizza In Amarillo Turns A Negative Into A Huge Positive

We have a lot of amazing local restaurants here in Amarillo. I'm not talking about the chain restaurants, they're great too, but the locally owned spots we have are some of the best anywhere.

My favorite is hunting down the best local pizza joints in town. I'm such a sucker for a good pie. Plus, local pizza places just know how to do it better.

One of my favorites in town is Big Jim's. Phenomenal pizza, and they have (or at least had) one of the best delivery drivers I've ever encountered. Big Jim's is a go-to for me.

Recently, Big Jim himself posted in the Amarillo Restaurant Reviews...At Your Own Risk page about something that happened recently at the store, and he turned it from something negative into a huge positive for the community.

A man had called in a very large order, $250 worth of pizza. The crew at Big Jim's got right to work on the order when it was placed, 10 pizzas cranked out and ready to roll.

No one came, no one responded. When they got a hold of him, he began a tirade saying it was a future order, they weren't supposed to be cooked. Sadly, he forgot to mention that when he placed the order online.

The man began screaming expletives at the staff and threatened to cancel the charge with his credit card company, leaving Big Jim's to foot the bill.

Well, rather than let it be a negative experience, Big Jim flipped it into a positive. He offered them up to shelters, anyone needing a hot meal, or those hard working night shifters.

The response was overwhelming, and Big Jim took a bad thing and turned it into something extremely positive for the community. Big shout out to him and the crew there!
