What Is Clear Out Day In Amarillo? Here’s What You Need To Know.
I swear, one of my favorite things to do is scroll through everything in the Amarillo Marketplace on Facebook. I'm constantly looking for different decorations or furniture I can put in my house.
I'm very good at convincing myself that I need something, then finding it, inquiring about it, only to find out someone beat me to the punch. By the way, I'm still looking for an L-shaped desk if anyone has a nice one.
Maybe it's time to put Marketplace out to pasture. Well, for a day at least. Something is happening in Potter County that may very well satisfy my need for new furniture and other things...and yours as well.
On Thursday, May 29th, Potter County is holding a Clear Out Day that should be pretty phenomenal.
No, it's not us getting to clear out OUR stuff, we can do that any time we want honestly. This is all about them getting rid of various things they no longer have a use for, and we all get to be the beneficiaries of it.
The event will take place at at 1621 SW 5th Avenue/Bowie Street in Amarillo, starting at 8:30 am and wrapping up at 3:30 pm. It is a first come, first serve event.
All the items at the event will be free, and available to anyone who can use them. There will not be any help on-site to move the furniture and other items, so you will have to provide your own proverbial muscle to get items into your vehicles.
Be prepared to bring a proper sized vehicle to transport whatever you decide to claim, whether that be a large truck, SUV, trailer, or even U-Haul. There is no limit on how much you grab, as long as you can transport it.
If you have any questions about the event, you can reach out to the Potter County Judge’s Office by calling 806-379-2250, or you can send an email to Nancy Tanner.
