One of the best things to hit Amarillo each year is the Hoodoo Mural Festival, and this year, it's about to be bigger.

The biggest issue with how it's done now is fencing. Because it's an outdoor event, there is a lot of setup involved that takes more than one day to set up, not to mention manpower and funding.

What Is The Hoodoo Mural Festival In Amarillo

It's a giant party. Artists from all over the Texas Panhandle roll into Amarillo to paint beautiful murals throughout the event, not to mention tons of live music and DJ sets.

24 murals were completed last year alone, and they graced Amarillo throughout the year. This year will be different, however.

Where Will The Hoodoo Mural Festival Be Held This Year

Because of the aforementioned issues with setting up the huge production outdoors, this year they'll be partnering up with Arts in the Sunset at the Amarillo Art Institute as the host site for the festival.

It allows for more parking, more security, and more facilities to be utilized for the festival. Because a good majority of it will be inside, there will be less fencing and setup that needs to be done, allowing for the focus to be placed on making it an even better event.

Will This Change How The Festival Is Held

It doesn't appear that there will be any changes to the festival from previous years. The murals will still be painted, the music will still be loud, and the atmosphere will be even more comfortable and enjoyable.

The mural portion of the festival will take place in the parking lot, and certain pieces of the building will be utilized for more murals.

When Is The Hoodoo Mural Festival In Amarillo, Texas

The 2025 version of the festival is set to take place on September 27th, and tickets will be going on sale in June for it. Kids 10 and under will be admitted to the festival for free.

Last years event drew 3,000 people, so you'll want to get your tickets quick when they go on sale. They'll be available at the Hoodoo Mural Festival website.
