High Speed Chase of Truck Stolen Out of Amarillo Ends in Oklahoma

At about 10:43am this morning, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers were in pursuit of a truck stolen out of Amarillo when it wrecked six miles northwest of Woodward.

The news first surfaced in a Facebook post by Marty Logan, a stormchaser with News 9 out of Oklahoma City.

A news report from News 9 was posted to the site shortly afterwards. According to the report, the pursuit of the truck stolen out of Amarillo started on U.S. Route 412 between Woodward and Fort Supply.

An OHP trooper performed a tactical maneuver diverted the pickup truck off-road. The truck rolled into a pasture directly west of the roadside. Both the trooper and suspect were transported to a Woodward hospital with non-life threatening injuries, as per OHP.

When news of this pursuit broke, there was speculation that the pursuit and crash involved an area fugitive, Chanz Garcia. However, after follow-up with authorities, this was disproven and the two incidents are unrelated.
