There are some monstrous parks in the USA, some better known than others. Central Park in New York for example. Huge, big enough to fit New York's La Guardia airport within it, (680 acres vs 843 acres), and well known but not the biggest in the USA.
The largest "urban" park in the USA is also a state park and it's right here in the 915.
Not surprisingly, Texas can claim some big damn parks. Some of the biggest state parks in the nation are in Texas and we have one of the top 10 biggest urban parks in the world. That one, (#8), lies completely within the west Texas town of El Paso.

Teeny compared to Big Bend (National) Park and its 300,000 acres which is, in turn, teeny compared to the biggest national park in the United States of America. Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve is the big dog. Located in the USA's biggest state, Alaska, it covers about 13 meeeellion acres.
It is also a relatively young national park, having been named one in 1980 by then POTUS Jimmy Carter.
