Could Mork be headed back to Earth? It seems Robin Williams’ bite from the TV acting bug might have been bigger than his recent ‘Louie‘ and ‘Wilfred‘ appearances, as the legendary funnyman may have his eye on a new gig at CBS. But what could have lured Williams back to a regular role after over 30 years off the tube, and why does the project have ‘Mad Men‘s Don Draper feeling a shiver up his spine?
Well, this is an odd play for the Trade Federation CBS. Soon what could be considered the forerunner of modern reality TV, ‘Survivor‘ will reach a landmark 25 seasons as the series next travels to the Philippines to test the mettle of its 18 contestants. But what special guests can count themselves among the contestants? Will ‘The Facts of Life’ be enough to teach sitcom star Lisa Whelchel to survive? Who else will compete?
Haven’t you ever been groggily watching ‘The Price is Right’ one morning, only to find yourself thinking, “boy, that reasonably priced set of crystal stemware would seem more obtainable if it were presented by a handsome chap, rather than this distractingly attractive gal?” Word for word, you say? Well, good news everyone! ‘The Price is Right’ is about to become equal opportunity, and you could be the next one to come on down!
Boy, that Edward Norton sure likes playing priests. From playing a minister in 2000′s ‘Keeping the Faith’ to one of his more famous roles as an altar boy in ‘Primal Fear,’ the ‘Avengers‘ dropout and ‘Bourne Legacy‘ star will once again be taking holy orders, portraying a priest for ‘The Simpsons” upcoming 24th season. But when Edward Norton hits the scene, what will become of Reverend Lovejoy?
Everyone loves the first major interview following a public and embarrassing celebrity moment. Some people can laugh at the humor of the situation, as Fred Willard did on David Letterman following his recent public masturbation arrest, but will Robert Pattinson let his icy vampire exterior warm during his first major public appearance following Kristen Stewart‘s embarrassing affair? Who will be the one to crack RPattz on KStew?
Sports fans, in particular fans of nationally renowned (and occasionally peeped on) sportscaster Erin Andrews were likely dismayed last week to learn that their favorite blonde would no longer call ESPN home, but instead would seek employment elsewhere. A week later, there’s been little apart from speculation, but where will Andrews next take up a permanent position?
It’s a good thing that only three years time will see the major cities of the world outfitted with flying cars, hover-boards and Pepsi Perfect kiosks at every corner cafe, because otherwise things might look fairly bleak. Not only will ‘2 Broke Girls‘ likely still be on the air, but syndicated on a major cable network as well.
‘Community‘ fans are the first people to single out NBC for disregarding the show, by either never giving enough promotion, or changing its show-runner without so much of a phone call, and the newly-released official schedule for the fall is just icing on the cake. So just how long will we have to wait for fresh episodes of ‘Community,’ or even ‘30 Rock?’
In spite of NBC’s pre-’Red Dragon’ straight-to-series drama ‘Hannibal‘ not being present at the past Upfront event, a considerable amount of buzz surrounds the series. After all, to put Hannibal Lecter on TV you’d need some ace casting, no? We already knew that Hugh Dancy would take the role of a young agent Will Graham, but we’ve been tepidly swirling our Chianti waiting for news of the man himself. No longer!
Somewhat sad news, folks. While much of last week was spent on an upswing watching show after show get officially picked up and renewed, it seems two of TV’s underrepresented mainstays are about to go gentle into that goodnight. On the upside, at least one of the cancelled series won’t mean an end to work!
In spite of the bazillions of dollars it’s already earned, ‘The Avengers‘ hasn’t been in theaters all that long, yet naturally every star and movie executive wants a piece of the sequel. Not only that, but most every source indicates that the superhero roster would likely expand for the follow-up, leaving a wealth of potential characters for Hollywood, particularly women to nab. So which TV star wants to smash her way onto the big screen next time around?
Well, it’s not all bad news. As shows like ‘Breaking In,’ ‘Alcatraz,’ and ‘The Finder‘ fall by the wayside, FOX has given life to at least five new series for the coming season. But of the five currently approved for season orders, what might some castings mean for actors currently engaged on on other shows?
