I've always felt that the best way to really understand what a song is about, is to read the lyrics along with the song. For some reason it always lets me see what the person was feeling when writing the song.

'Whenever We're Alone' by Brantley Gilbert is no exception. As I read the lyrics while the song played, I could see myself back in highschool. It's amazing how certain songs can bring back memories from years ago.

She comes home late at night
Kicks her high heels off and sighs
Lays down on the bed
She said it's been a long day at work
I couldn't wait till I got home
Just to be with you again
Lord I love just to watch her sleepin'
I just pull the covers up and wonder what she's dreamin'

(CHORUS)
When she's...
wrapped up with a t-shirt on
got the lights turned way down low
radio has got her favorite song
and then she's singin right along
let your hair down, baby let it fall
rip the phone cord out the wall
whisper love you while driftin off again
whenever we're alone...yeah

I took her out last friday night
To let her dance under neon lights
and that girl she's turnin' heads
strangers eyes right on my girl
can't blame em man she's beautiful
she's comin' home with me..
and lord her beauty is hard to hide
I'm countin' my blessings every night

(CHORUS)
When she's...
wrapped up with a t-shirt on
got the lights turned way down low
radio has got her favorite song
and then she's singin right along
let your hair down, baby let it fall
rip the phone cord out the wall
whisper love you while driftin off again
whenever we're alone...whenever we're alone

(CHORUS)
When she's...
wrapped up with a t-shirt on
got the lights turned way down low
radio has got her favorite song
and man she's singin right along
let your hair down, baby let it fall
rip the phone cord out the wall
whisper love you while your driftin off
whenever we're alone...
