Reading, Writing, and Cyberbaiting ? Teachers Deal With New Issue

Now , on top of making sure your kid learns to read, write and multiply teachers are having to worry about something called "cyberbaiting".  It's a growing phenomenon where these little heathens aka students, taunt teachers to the point of yelling and breaking down just so they can record their reaction on camera.

Feeling pretty good about choosing any other profession right about now? Well, you definetly will after you see the numbers on "cyberbaiting".

Interviews with 2,379 teachers of students aged 8-17 for the Norton Online Family Report showed that one in five of them (21 percent) surveyed had experienced "cyberbaiting," and dealt with the fallout of "further shame or trouble" afterward

Since when are cell phones allowed in the classroom ? I'm old but not that old and we were never allowed to have ours in class. And even more so, what the hell is an 8 year old doing with a phone in the classroom or otherwise ?

Some experts say the problem can be traced to teachers being 'friends' with their students on social network sight like Facebook.

Perhaps some of this interaction comes from 34 percent of teachers who are "friends" with their students on social networks. But teachers are aware of the inherent potential for line crossing, with 67 percent of them who say those friendships exposes them to risks. Schools aren't helping them as much as teachers want, with only 51 percent of surveyed teachers saying their employers have a code of conduct on how teachers and students should interact on social networks.

Maybe it is Facebook's fault or MAYBE it should be traced back to the parents who aren't teaching their little darlings basic respect and manners. But that's just my opinion, who do you think is to blame here for the increase in cyberbaiting ?
