Man’s best friend is still man’s best, even after a decade apart.

Supposedly this is the war cry of the Namaqua Rain Frog, but honestly, it's not very intimidating. It seems to be more of a "cry for help" cry, the kind you make when things are about to turn ugly. Then again, we don't know how anything could be as ugly as this frog...

Americans love their dogs. (We especially love this bulldog perpetually circling the table.) But is parading them around in front of everyone a sport?

Man is widely considered to be the deadliest animal on the planet, mostly because it's hard to match the killing power of our guns and nuclear bombs. Even so, there are plenty of lethal predators out there that are more than willing to take us on and, if fortune favors these creates in battle, rip a chunk out of our flesh, or even end our lives.

Never heard of a pygmy jerboa? It's kind of like a kangaroo. A very, very, very, very small kangaroo.

The ocean's a big place, but sometimes it can seem really crowded. These divers probably expected to see a few exotic fish — instead they stumbled across a pod of humpback whales, plus a few sharks.

Lobsters are delicious, no argument here, but they are also quite monstrous-looking. If one catches you by surprise, it's perfectly understandable to shriek in terror. Like these people.

Goats seem pretty nice. They have little beards and say "baaaaaa" and eat grass and stuff. They also have horns, though.

Pugs are some of the funniest pups around. For starters, they have a knack for eating peanut butter and dressing up like Avengers. The bulging eyes, heavy breathing, tongue hanging out-- they can't help but look hilariously adorable no matter what the situation.

It must be so tempting if you're a lion. There, mere inches away, in plain sight, is a child—a quick, easy meal just sitting there. But for that darn glass!

They are truly the stuff of nightmares. Adorable, licky, stubby-legged nightmares. We're talking about puppy attacks, of course.
