TSoul added a unique TSoul twist to a Willie Nelson classic on Monday's (April 24) episode of The VoiceCompeting in the Top 12, TSoul brought an individual flavor with his performance of Nelson's very country "Always on My Mind."

While stepping out of his comfort zone to take on the country classic, the singer on Team Blake Shelton stayed true to his name, adding soul to the track. Sitting on a stool in the middle of the stage — joined only by a piano player and mood lighting in the background — he delivered a truly passionate performance of the iconic song, pouring in plenty of emotion while simultaneously making it his own.

The new rendition was made that much more dynamic with the presence of a gospel choir, taking the song to a whole new level. Clearly the crowd agreed with his interpretation, rewarding TSoul with enthusiastic applause at the end, with coach Shelton even giving a standing ovation.

TSoul was saved by his coach last Monday (April 17) when it was down to him and country singer Casi Joy, and its evident Shelton is happy with his decision.

"You are looking at one extremely proud and happy coach," Shelton said of the soul-filled performance. "I never saw anybody who gets lost in their performance like you do. I love that as an artist and as a fan.”

Other contestants who performed country songs during the Top 12 are resident country girl Lauren Duski, who offered a beautiful rendition of Lee Ann Womack's "Lord ,I Hope This Day is Good," and Lilli Passero, who ran with guest mentor Shania Twain's hit "Man! I Feel Like a Woman." The Top 11 is announced on Tuesday night (April 25).
