It's official! Shania Twain will release a new single called "Life's About to Get Good" this June, and a new album in September. The album will be her first in 15 years.

Twain's record label announced the news on Tuesday afternoon (April 25), although fans have long speculated this was coming. Recent high-profile appearances on late-night television and NBC's The Voice, plus the singer's own statements about new music, led most to believe the song would be coming in the spring. The date has slid backward some, but the still-untitled album is now set for September. Twain's last studio album was Up!, released in 2002.

Twain will debut "Life's About to Get Good" at Stagecoach Music Festival this Saturday in Indio, Calif. On writing the song, the singer explains that it came to her as she was looking to break free of a very negative time in her life.

"I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out,'" Twain says. "You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about."

This was not one of the titles Twain mentioned during a February interview with Rolling Stone, during which she detailed a song about her divorce called "Who's Gonna Be Your Girl?" In an interview with the Los Angeles Times she admitted a song called "Swingin" was also in contention, but the way she plays with the word "about" was particularly satisfying.

"I was thinking, 'Okay, what is life about?' I was being kind of serious; I was reflecting," she tells the newspaper. "Life’s about joy, life’s about pain, life’s about this, life’s about that ... Then all of a sudden: 'Life’s about to get good.' And I thought, 'What a great play on words! How fun is that?"

Twain's last successful radio single was "Party for Two," a 2004 duet with Billy Currington.
