A tuna caught off the coast of New Zealand may set the world record for biggest tuna ever caught.

Nathan Adams, 42, was fishing off the coast North of New Zealand when he caught possibly the world's biggest tuna.

Adam's said it has been his dream since he was a little kid to catch a bluefin tuna just like the 738 pound pacific bluefin tuna he caught. The massive tuna was caught in just a 20 ft boat with rod and reel, experts find that amazing.

Back in the day a 500 pound tuna, just like the one in the photo was caught and was sold for nearly 1 million bucks, but because the boat was registered at the time the New Zealand law prohibits fish being caught with a recreational boat to be sold.

But Adam's is fine with that, he said he isn't rich and would love some extra cash but would rather pay a couple grand and mount the fish in his living room (if his wife lets him of course) instead of selling it to some rich suit and have them mount it on their wall and say they caught it themselves.
