We are barely into summer and already fall semester is on everyone's mind. With the coronavirus, schools all across the country closed their doors this spring and moved instruction online. Amarillo College was not immune and the fall semester has been up in the air... until now.

AC has announced they plan to resume fall classes with students in classrooms when the semester starts on August 24. In order to get everyone back on campus, they will be implementing enhanced safety measures. Everyone on campus will be required to wear face masks while on school property. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you. Plexiglass dividers will be installed throughout campus in high traffic areas. Social distancing will take place all across the school, and hand sanitizer stations will be stationed in every building.

If students choose to distance learn, those opportunities will remain available. Many classes will be streamed live so students can choose to be in the classroom or at home. Some classes may be split to accommodate social distancing, and others may be relocated to larger spaces. AC says students should consult with their advisors to determine the availability of options for a particular class as not all classes will be simulcast.
