Amarillo Police Need Help Solving 2019 Aggravated Assault
The Amarillo Police Department and Crime Stoppers are asking for the public's help in closing an unsolved aggravated assault. The incident took place in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 19, 2019. APD officers were dispatched to SE 10th and Bagarry on an aggravated assault. When they arrived on the scene, officers found a 26 year old male with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.
During their investigation, APD officers were told that the victim was driving and was stopped by another vehicle in the middle of the road. The suspect stepped then out of the vehicle and began to shoot at the victim. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 5’08” tall, wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans and he was driving a smaller light-colored car. A nearby surveillance camera was able to catch the incident although the quality is not clear enough for a positive identification of a suspect.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and has since become paralyzed from their injuries. After several months of investigating no suspect has been identified and officials are asking for you help.
