Amarillo’s Christmas Tradition Center City Electric Light Parade
One of the best parts of the holiday season in Amarillo is Center City's Electric Light Parade. A Christmas parade that lights up downtown Amarillo. Thousands of people descend on downtown to revel in the craftiness of each float.
The Center City Electric Light Parade returns, so put it on your calendars and get ready for an evening of Christmas fun for the entire family.
This is one of those events where you never know what the weather is going to do, and you have to be prepared to bundle up and layer to stay warm or wear a light jacket.
The parade will go on unless there is a threat to the health and safety of Amarillo citizens. I believe the parade has only been cancelled 2 times due to severe cold weather.
Although it may seem the parade is early this year, it isn't, it happens on the same Friday it always does, but the calendar just happened to put it on the very last day in November.
WHEN: Friday, November 30th, 6pm
WHERE: Downtown on Polk St. The route will start at 11th and Polk continuing north to 3rd then east to the north Civic Center parking lot.
COST: Nothing, absolutely free.
This year's theme is Winter Wonderland. Get ready to see some of the best creativity from some of Amarillo's best businesses, civic groups, non-profits, churches and more. The community goes all out for this parade and it is an amazing event you don't want to miss. Don't forget to stay for the City's Christmas Tree lighting after the parade. Make sure you put it on the calendar and get ready for a Winter Wonderland at Center City's Electric Light Parade.
If you want to participate in the parade, you can! The cost is $25 for non-profits and $40 for businesses. The deadline to sign up is November 14.
