The City of Amarillo made an announcement that the COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic would resume Saturday starting at 9am through 2pm at the Amarillo Civic Center. Eligibility for the vaccine includes frontline healthcare workers, staff and residents of longterm care as well as citizens 65 or older, adults 18 or older who have at least one underlying medical condition that would put them at a higher risk of complications from COVID-19 infection.

Among the more common underlying conditions: (not a complete list)

  • Cancer
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
  • Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies Solid organ transplantation
  • Obesity and severe obesity (body mass index of 30 kg/m2 or higher)
  • Pregnancy
  • Sickle cell disease
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus

The clinic will be held at the North Hall of the Amarillo Civic Center at 401 S. Buchanan. Appointments are not needed and are on a walk in basis.
