A BNSF railroad worker was killed after an accident this morning while trying to repair a train car.

 

An accident in North Amarillo Monday morning left one Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railroad worker dead. The APD was called to an accident that happened around 11:10am under the Ross St. overpass on south Williams St. & Third Ave. BNSF railworkers were moving a rail grinder car when it struck the man knocking him underneath the car. The BNSF employees moved the car while they were trying to repair a leak underneath.

When the paramedics arrived they pronounced the employee dead at the scene. The name of the employee has not been released yet but he is being described as a white male in his 50's. Potter County Justice of the peace Gary Jackson has ordered a autopsy over the cause of death.
