The website WalletHub decided to dig into the numbers and see which states are the best and worst for singles. Oddly enough, Texas isn't that bad when it comes to "goin' it alone."

Texas ranked 3rd out of all 50 states. That means we did good.

States were judged on several metrics. Those can be broken down into three categories: dating opportunities, dating economics, and romance & fun.

When it comes to opportunities, Texas was 6th. This was determined by looking at the number of singles, gender balance, online/mobile dating participation, and a few other categories. Basically, if you're in Texas and you're single, you're not alone.

That means there's more chances.

Economics looked at average income, cost of living, the cost of a haircut or trip to a salon, and several other factors. Texas came in 22nd in economics. It's not the most expensive, but it definitely isn't the cheapest.

For romance & fun, the study looked at date activities, like concerts, movie theaters, and other activities. They looked at how much is available and how much they cost on average in each state. Texas ranked 5th overall in romance & fun.

I've seen a lot of threads on different social media sites and forums about how dating in Amarillo sucks, but it really isn't that bad. I met my wife here.

You can find out more about the study, and more of their results by using this link and going to WalletHub's website.
