Plans for a public memorial service for Dog the Bounty Hunter star Beth Chapman have been announced. According to CNN and other sources, Chapman's public memorial will take place in Hawaii on Saturday (June 29).

Chapman's daughters, Cecily and Lyssa Chapman, issued a statement on Friday (June 28), announcing the service and inviting the public to join their family in celebrating the beloved reality TV star's life.

"Beth had two homes — Hawai'i and Colorado," the statement reads. "'I love Hawai'i the most,' she said, so she will be sent off in true Hawaiian style, with aloha."

The memorial ceremony is slated to take place at 2PM on Saturday at Fort DeRussy Beach in Waikiki. The service will include a Hawaiian oli chant and prayer, followed by a paddle-out, which is a traditional Hawaiian ritual in which participants enter the water together and float on the surface with their hands joined.

The family is asking those who attend the memorial to bring ocean-friendly loose flowers, but they request that no one bring leis, because the strings can cause harm to ocean life.

Chapman died on Wednesday (June 26) after a battle with cancer. Initially diagnosed with Stage II throat cancer in 2017, she beat the disease within months. Chapman announced that her cancer had returned in November of 2018, and later announced that she would not undergo any further chemotherapy.

Another daughter, Bonnie Chapman, turned to Instagram on Wednesday to share a loving photo tribute to her mother.

There will also be a separate memorial service for Chapman in Colorado at a later date. Those plans have not yet been finalized.
