We'll skip the hot-button topic of whether or not you should get the vaccine for the sake of civility. Chances are you've already made up your mind. If you are one of those who are wanting to get the vaccine, Canyon ISD is making it possible to get one for free for students, families, and community members.

There are a couple of options when it comes to which day you can get your vaccine. The first of which is coming up pretty soon. You can get your first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on August 20.

You will be able to get the vaccine at 3301 N. 23rd Street in Canyon on August 20 from 4PM - 6PM. Canyon ISD has teamed up with United Supermarkets to make this available to the community.

For students to get the vaccine, they will need to be 12 or older. You can find out more by clicking this link.

Pro vaccine or not, I think that this is something great for the school district to do. This definitely helps make it easier for those in the community who wish to get the vaccine.

I have had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine, personally. My side effects weren't too bad. I was fortunate and didn't have any of the severe ones. My arm was sore for a day and I had a headache for a little bit.

It was really no big deal.

After August 20, your next opportunity to get the first dose will on August 27. Second doses will be given September 10 and 17.

Always Prepared: Check Out These Doomsday Bunkers in Texas
