The film will be called, "Bomb City."

In 1997, a 19-year-old boy named Brian Deneke was killed in a hit and run in Amarillo. But there's much more to the story than that.

Deneke was a punk musician who sang for an Amarillo band called The White Slave Traders. He had a mohawk, homemade tattoos, and wore a leather jacket. He had been a student at Amarillo High School before he dropped out and got his GED. He was part of two of Stanley Marsh's most notorious projects in Amarillo: "Dynamite Museum" and the Cadillac Ranch.

Dustin Camp was a 17-year-old Tascosa High School student. He was considered a "jock" since he played football and hung out with other athletes.

On December 12th, 1997, Camp intentionally ran Deneke over in the parking lot of the Western Plaza Shopping Center with his Cadillac. Camp was indicted and sentenced to 10 years probation. In 2001, he was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment for violating his parole. He served 5 of those years.

"Bomb City" will portray the story from the perspective of an oppressed punk community in Amarillo during the 90's. The film's producer said that the movie will be less focused on the murder of Deneke itself and more about the story leading up to and following the crime.

Ron Lester, famous for his role as Billy Bob in "Varsity Blues," was cast in "Bomb City." Sadly, he passed away on June 17th, 2016.
