Most fans know that Dolly Parton grew up dreaming of performing on the Grand Ole Opry stage, and that she made her debut on the hallowed stage at just 13 years old. However, the Opry offered Parton more than just a stage and audience eager to hear her music: It was the home of her first crush, too.

In a new interview on Late Night With Seth Myers, Parton reveals to show host Myers that she had a major crush on country music legend Johnny Cash. She remembers that she first started noticing the Man in Black when her uncle, Bill Owens, began taking her on trips to Nashville to see music.

"That was when Johnny Cash was first on the scene, and he was all -- he was the sexiest thing I'd ever seen," Parton recalls. "I was 13 years old, and I was looking at him and feeling all these things that you feel, you know? That was the first time I really understood what sex appeal really was."

Just seven years later, when she was 20 years old, Parton would marry her now-husband Carl Dean in Ringgold, Ga. They were young when they got hitched, but the couple has stayed together for 50-plus years, though Dean typically stays out of the spotlight. Parton has said that she knows her husband prefers a behind-the-scenes role, so she usually attends events with friends instead -- an arrangement that's never made her husband jealous.

However, back in her early teen years, Parton only had eyes for Cash. "I just really, you know, fell into a burning "Ring of Fire,"" she tells Myers with a chuckle.
