Drinking and Driving? Don’t Bother, Amarillo Police Are Stepping Up Enforcement
Labor Day and the unofficial end of summer is here and I don't know about you but I'm ready to celebrate, I know there's gonna be plenty of partying, BBQ and football to get me through the weekend and I'll admit, there might just be a cold beer or two that makes it's way into the mix. I've got a plan, most of what I'm doing is at home this year is at home, so I don't have to do the walk of shame if I get too loaded up

There's another reason for staying home, no need to get behind the wheel when you're at home. If you do manage to get out and about this weekend make sure have a plan. the folks at Amarillo Police certainly have theirs, which is looking out for folks who may have had a little too much to drink.
Amarillo Police have received funding from the Texas Department of Transportation to help fund the extra patrols over the weekend. And don't think that skipping town is going to make it any easier to not get caught
It's a statewide effort too
Law enforcement across Texas is also stepping up enforcement thanks to many of the same grants both state and federally funded.
Do what you can to stay out of trouble in the first place, I'm not saying don't drink. It's Labor Day after all. Just make sure you have a good plan, a designated driver, ride share or whatever you need to do to keep yourself from making a bad move.
