According to his autopsy, Brandon Church -- brother of country star Eric Church -- died due to "consequences of chronic alcoholism." The report indicates that Brandon Church, who suffered two seizures prior to his death, dealt with alcohol withdrawal-induced seizure disorder.

RadarOnline obtained Brandon Church's autopsy, which was performed by staff at Piedmont Pathology. The results explain that Brandon Church suffered from coronary artery disease, myocardial hypertrophy and steatosis (aka, fatty liver disease), but that there were no illegal substances in his body at the time of his death.

"According to his primary care provider, his history includes binge drinking followed shortly thereafter by episodes of seizure activity upon the withdrawal of alcohol use," the autopsy reports. "This is a 36-year-old white male with a known history of alcohol withdrawal-induced seizure disorder (non-traumatic), chronic alcohol use and substance abuse in the past."

Brandon Church died at the age of 36 on June 29. At the time, Kenneth Church, Eric and Brandon Church's father, told TMZ that his son suffered a seizure at his home in Granite Falls, N.C., and then suffered a second one while being transported to the hospital. Kenneth Church also noted that his son had been having seizures in recent years. A representative for Eric Church tells The Boot that the family has no comment on the autopsy's findings.

Eric Church's fans may recognize his brother's name: Early on in the country artist's career, Brandon Church sometimes performed with his brother; readers can press play above to see a circa-2008 performance of the Band's "The Weight," during which Brandon Church played guitar in his brother's band. AllMusic.com also lists Brandon Church as a co-writer of Church's songs "How 'Bout You" and "Without You Here."

The Church family has established the Brandon E. Church Memorial Scholarship Fund in his memory. They are asking that, in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Brandon Church "pay forward a gift that will keep on giving to others through furthering their education."

The Brandon E. Church Memorial Scholarship Fund donation page remembers Brandon Church as a "beloved son, brother, father and friend." He is survived by, among others, his parents, Ken and Rita; his famous brother; and a daughter, McKenzie.
