George Strait has retired but is still playing select shows. One of those will be to open Dickies Arena in Fort Worth in November of 2019.

Dickies Arena is $540 million arena headed by Fort Worth billionaire Ed Bass according to the Fort Worth Star Telegram. The new arena has already been booked to host the January 2020 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo as one of it's inaugural events.

The multi-purpose arena can seat 14,000 and is already selected to host the 2022 first and second round of the men's NCAA tournament and the 2020 NCAA women's gymnastic championship.

Tickets will be available at ticketmaster.com starting next Friday, December 7. Prices range from $19.82 per ticket to $250. Texas swing band, Asleep at the Wheel will open for Strait.

I was at the grand opening of AT&T Stadium in Arlington when George Strait was the headliner. I think George should be the official opener for any huge venue in Texas.
