George Strait is suddenly one of the hottest trending topics on Twitter and that had some people fearing the worst earlier today but don't worry, he's just fine.

It's just that tickets for his show at the 2022 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo went on sale this morning.

According to Click2Houston there were about 53,000 people in the online waiting room shortly before 10 this morning, eagerly awaiting their turn to buy tickets. Those tickets sold out in less than 10 minutes.

That's when the tweeting started.

Others figured that since the show is so far out some of the couples that purchased tickets today would be looking for someone new by the day of the show and wanted to toss their hat in the ring. They'd probably be happy as the replacement 'plus one' or just buy the tickets outright.

Still others were simply confused and thought people couldn't spell 'straight' correctly. That was especially entertaining as it came from someone who doesn't know how to punctuate a sentence.

Ultimately, it was just a bunch of people either bragging about getting tickets or crying because they didn't. King George is still alive and well and doing fine.

For those who were fortunate enough to score tickets ... we're officially jealous.

For the rest of us, there's always the Radio and good old YouTube.

No doubt some of the tickets sold today will be resold later through AXS, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo's only official ticket provider at HoustonRodeo.com.

The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is scheduled to take place from February 28 through March 20, 2022.
