Rising artist Hardy may not have heard his songs on terrestrial radio just yet, but he has had a chance to hear one on satellite radio. The songwriter-turned-artist first heard himself on SiriusXM's The Highway channel -- and he got to share the experience with his mom, too. But while Hardy tries to celebrate every milestone, he still hasn't quite figured out how to process the biggest moments. Read on to learn more.

The first time [I ever heard myself on the radio] was on SiriusXM['s The Highway channel], and it actually wasn't [my first single] "Rednecker" -- it was "Throwback."

I don't know ... I'm so bad at processing these things! It's such a weird thing. I think that's why some artists are superstars and just never quit [working and trying to get to the next level].

Don't get me wrong: There are lots of moments that are like, "Wow, I can't believe this is happening." But I was just with my mom, and she was taking me to the airport, and it was like, "Well, there it was." It was just bizarre.

I'm not one to freak out, either, and to be like, "Oh my God!" But it was really, really cool. It's just a weird thing, where a big moment will happen, and you're like, "That was it. That was the big moment I'm going to talk about forever." I don't know, I think too much. I'm in my head all the time.

I haven't actually heard it on terrestrial radio yet. That one's gonna blow my mind. Because it's already really cool to hear my songs, but I'm waiting for the time that it's gonna randomly come on as I'm listening to the radio. That's gonna freak me out.
