We've seen many new businesses, restaurants, and even coffee shops open up in Amarillo so far this year. 2023 still has more up its sleeve. A press release recently announced that a new restaurant will be coming to Yellow City, and it's something that fans of chicken and spice will be interested in.

According to a press release that was recently issued, Dave's Hot Chicken is finally coming to West Texas. Four locations will be opening up, taking care of the region around Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, and Odessa.

Dave's Hot Chicken has a pretty interesting story. Originally, it started as a parking lot pop-up restaurant. It was nothing more than a tiny stand serving up their style of "hot chicken."

It didn't take long before lines were wrapping around the block, and they were able to get out of the parking lot and into a building. From there, it became a favorite in various places around the U.S. and Canada, and across the globe.

I've never been to Dave's Hot Chicken. Judging from the menu on their website, and photos I've been able to find, it might be the kind of place that's right up my alley.

The menu is simple, which is nice. There's a small number of options available when it comes to combos. The hardest choice, I think, will be deciding which level of "hot" you want your chicken at.

The "heat" options range from no spice all the way up to something called reaper.

I'm interested in giving Dave's Hot Chicken a try. I love spicy food, especially when it comes to chicken. The sliders look the most tempting on the website. Fingers crossed they open sooner rather than later.
