One of the best benefits of taking the loop around Amarillo, Texas is that you can get around the city much faster than going through it. You won't find all the stoplights. There's not as much traffic. The speed limit is also higher. Those speed limits are about to change, though.

Speed Limit Changes Coming To State Loop 335 In Amarillo This Week

If you travel on the southeast portion of the loop in Amarillo, Texas, you must be aware of a speed limit change coming this week. The change is taking place tomorrow (Jan 11) and will affect the southeast portion of the loop from Lakeside to Washington, according to a press release issued by TxDOT.

TxDOT does mention in their press release that this is "weather pending." Message boards will be on display to make sure you know about the changes.

Slow It Down When You're On The Southeast Part Of The Loop In Amarillo, Texas

I love taking the loop because of the speed limit. Especially when I need to get from one end of town to the other and I don't feel like taking 40, or dealing with a lot of stoplights and stop signs.

The speed limit change taking place to the southeast portion of the loop is reducing the speed limit. It's going down to 65 miles per hour.

Still quicker than sitting at half the stoplights in town.

Slow Down, Pay Attention, Drive Safe This Week And Weekend

The weather is supposed to be brutally cold heading into this weekend. Slowing down a little bit isn't a bad idea.

Keep an eye on weather forecasts, make sure your vehicle is prepped for winter weather, and drive safe. Also, don't forget to slow down on the southeast side of the loop.

Amarillo Landmarks: Negative Yelp Reviews

Yelp can be a strange and angry place. That's what I found out recently when I decided to sort the reviews by "lowest rating" first.

I was okay with the people upset over bad service and what not. But I came across a few reviews that, for lack of a better word, left me speechless in their scathing negative reviews on some of Amarillo's most iconic places. Prepare your self for plenty of head shaking and "I dunno" shrugs.
