Many times I've found myself walking into a Pizza Hut in Texas, and thinking back to when I was a kid. There's something special about the way Pizza Hut used to look back in the 80s. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the classic Pizza Hut that I remember from my childhood still exists, and there are several of them right here in Texas.

What Is Pizza Hut Classic

Pizza Hut Classic is a version of the pizza chain that brings back the feel and style of the Pizza Huts from yesteryear. If you remember going to Pizza Hut in the 70s through the 90s, you know what to expect.

The tables are adorned with the same checkered tablecloths. The lights all have the classic Pizza Hut lampshade dangling above the tables.

Even the outside strikes a nostalgic chord. Look closely at the photos above. Seeing a BOOK IT! poster in this environment just makes all seem with the world. All we need now is the jukebox and a pinball machine.

Fortunately for those of us in the Lone Star State, we have several places where you can find a Pizza Hut Classic. Those places include:

  • Bastrop, Texas

  • Coleman, Texas

  • Hondo, Texas
  • Mercedes, Texas

Texans have eight chances to travel back to a simpler time in a Pizza Hut Classic.

The concept of Pizza Hut Classic was brought about as a way to celebrate the legacy and history of the world-famous pizza franchise. On a plaque that adorns the Pizza Hut Classics, it's mentioned that Pizza Hut started off as a single restaurant in Kansas thanks to a small loan. Since then, it has grown into a globally recognized brand and a part of many of our lives.

I wonder if they do classic Pizza Hut birthdays at Pizza Hut Classic. Remember those?
