Terrifying Texas Showdown: Brave Woman's Heart-Pounding Escape from Armed Aggressor
I've always wondered why we don't see more videos like the one at the bottom of this article.
Not everybody wants to be internet famous, especially when it's for something embarrassing a bystander caught on tape. This video is pretty good though, it has a great, basic story structure. Let's break it down.
Act I: The Main Character Wants Something
Every Hollywood movie you've ever seen starts out with a character who wants to obtain something. Be it a physical something, emotional, or anything else. They set off on a path to get that thing.
In this story, the main characters are in search of fun. They see a couple of rascals fighting, and they think it will be entertaining to drive by and film the fight.
Act II: Everything Goes Wrong for the Main Character
The second act is always an obstacle or a series of obstacles getting in our main characters' way, preventing them from achieving their goal. They must figure out how to overcome the obstacles to get to their goal.
Here, one of the men, who happens to be brandishing a 2X4 piece of lumber notices the woman recording and turns his attention to the ladies in the car. Not wanting to be on camera, he sprints after them as fast as he can while.
Act III: Obstacles Overcome
The third act is the resolution. The main character overcomes the obstacles and has changed and/or grown in the process.
In this masterpiece, the car barely outruns the man with the lumber chasing them, and they live to see another day, changed because of their experience. They'll think twice before recording someone who's not having their best day because it's "funny."
