It’s not the kind of thing anyone expects to see on a Texas high school campus, but over the weekend, antisemitic flags were found hanging outside Rockwall-Heath High School.

As early bird students were getting to school, they spotted the flags and by 6:40 a.m., police were already on site pulling them down. Rockwall ISD called the materials “inappropriate and offensive,” and police say they’re now working with the district to track down whoever put them there.

This isn’t just a prank,” the Health Department of Public Safety said. “We will not tolerate this behavior, and we’re committed to holding those responsible accountable.”

It's a crime, not a prank.

Principal Todd Bradford called it what it is: a crime. In a letter to parents, he promised that the district and police are working side by side until they figure out who’s behind it.

"We will work together to identify the responsible parties and hold them accountable for this unacceptable behavior," Bradford said.

The mayor of Heath, Jeremiah McClure, didn’t hesitate to call out the crime either. He called the flags a “hateful display” and said the city won’t stand for it. "As the Mayor of Heath, I stand with our community in firm opposition to any acts of hatred, including the hateful display of flags that were found at Rockwall-Heath High School."

So far, officials haven’t said what exactly was on the flags, but the community is making one thing clear: hate has no place here. "Rest assured, these actions will not be tolerated, and those accountable will face the consequences of their behavior,” McClure wrote.
