Adam & Eve Store Prepares to Open in Amarillo

This is not new information in Amarillo but it is close to opening up, if it is not already. The Adam & Eve store is coming to Amarillo. The building that has sat empty on Western Street near Wolflin Ave is getting new life.

A Building With History

It was once a Payless Shoe Source. It was even once a Pier One but it has been empty for some time now. That space is being taken over by what’s promoted online as America’s favorite adult store.

I can't even click on the site since I am on a work computer, and I get the "Sorry, you don't have permission to visit this site." message. The darn adult themes filter got me. Just another work day in Amarillo for me, getting a talking to because I am trying to do some research for a new store coming to Amarillo.

Community Concerns Over Location

I have never been to an Adam & Eve store but soon it will be open here in Amarillo. There are some people that are concerned about it in our city. The talk is mainly because it is so close to Tascosa High School. It is also really close to some daycares on Wolflin Ave, behind them. So the location has concerned some in our city. I am not surprised.

Like it or not, it is coming soon. The signage has officially gone up. If the store is not already open, it will be very soon.

Nothing inappropriate will be seen from the streets. The high school kids will not be able to enter. Not that I feel like they will want to anyway and the biggest argument is there is nothing in this store that you can't see in certain sections of Walmart or the back of Spencer's.

A discussion was had recently online about the store. Some people weren't too happy and some said lighten up:

Nothing Seen From the Streets

An employee made sure she spelled it out for everyone:

Just hopping on this to say that I work there and we have all of the toys covered by displays! The windows are tinted. If you look in, you will see lingerie. Let’s be real, do yall hide your kids eyes in WALMART OR THE MALL? lol. We don’t sell any *orn and we ID EVERYONE!
I know it’s close to a school but we are very aware of that. If it give you any ease of mind, I haven’t seen a single high schooler even get close in the last couple of days. No one looking in the windows. Can’t wait to see ya'll who actually want to come in! We are aiming to open on Thursday ask for me! We work off of commission -Jessica

So they are here and ready for business. I have seen a lot of great response of people excited for the opening. Good for you. Good for Amarillo to have new business. They are not doing anything that other stores are not doing.
