Finally, Some Construction We Like: This Amarillo Restaurant is Growing This Winter
As we are winding down the first month of the year in Amarillo, there are some things that have changed and some that just stay the same. We have dealt with winter, which is finally here. We have gotten used to more construction headed our way.
There is some construction happening in Amarillo that really does make us happy. I know, hard to believe, but it is true. This construction is not leaving us with sudden lane closures. It doesn't force us to deal with backed-up traffic.

This construction, when done, will leave us with a lot of improvements and no headaches while it is being worked on. I know you don't believe me because when was the last time construction happened that didn't leave our city in some kind of nightmare while it's being done?
The construction that I am talking about is happening at the Golden Waffle Company on Hillside Road. I have been inside a few times, and it's a neat little place, but it is just that, little. It has definitely seen its share of busy times, which makes the inside seem smaller.
More Than Just Waffles: An Expanded Coffee Experience
That is about to change. Golden Waffle Company hinted at it early in the month and finally came clean about what they are doing. They are expanding. This is good news all around.
ICYMI! We're expanding and are really excited about it! This addition will give us more seating, an expanded coffee area, and allow us to better serve our guests. We are so grateful for your continued support and can't wait to share this space with you!
Local Growth: A Success Story for Amarillo's Small Businesses
This means that they will be able to have more guests to enjoy their great food. They will have more room for more people, and it won't seem so crowded. I love this for them.
So here is to a successful 2026 and more construction that doesn't affect the flow of traffic in Amarillo.
