One local business did just that. They came to let us know about something that recently happened to them. They shared their story as a warning to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else. Plus, hey, it would be a good idea to support them more now than ever.

A Heartbreaking Discovery: The Scam That Emptied the Account

Stories like this kind of make it hard to have any faith in the world. A local business was simply focused on its mission and trying to improve its facility with air conditioning. Recently, Amarillo Magic Co shared what happened to them:

We want to say something clearly at the beginning — this is not a marketing ploy. It’s not a strategy. It’s not a creative way to sell tickets. It’s simply us being honest.

In fact, we had to sleep on whether we even wanted to make this post.
We are not the type to air our issues publicly… but this one has hit us hard.

We have been working to secure a loan to install air conditioning in the theatre. During that process, we were scammed. Our banking information was compromised and our account was virtually emptied — they left us with $200.

A local business was simply focused on its mission and trying to improve its facility with air conditioning. And just like that, their money was stolen. Their account was basically drained.

No Charity Requested: Supporting Through "Moments of Wonder"

There is a simple way that you can help. Just by going to a show.

We know this is not your problem. And we are not asking for charity or a handout. We are simply doing what we’ve always done — putting on shows — and inviting people to attend if they were already planning to or thinking about it.

We are working closely with our bank and the proper authorities and doing everything we can on our end. In the meantime, we will continue to open the doors, turn on the lights, and create moments of wonder for our community.
