No Shortage of Fireworks Near Amarillo for Independence Day
Some summers we seem to have a shortage of Independence Day celebrations in and around Amarillo. This year is not going to be one of them. We are going to have at least three days to enjoy.
I know a lot of people complain about celebrations that are not on the 4th of July, but why? The more the merrier. I am all for expanding the celebration. This year we have an extended time to enjoy all of the fireworks.
The first of the Independence Day Celebrations is going to happen at Hodgetown. They will be wrapping up a home series with Midland on July 3rd and they will have fireworks after the game.
According to their event page on Facebook:
Join the Amarillo Sod Poodles as we celebrate America on July 3rd here at HODGETOWN! The players will don their Specialty jerseys along with the Stars & Stripes caps! The night will conclude in a MASSIVE fireworks show thanks to Bell Flight!
Then everyone will be heading to Canyon for their annual celebration. They will have a day full of fun with pancakes, a parade, the Fair on the Square, and of course the fireworks. This will all happen on the 4th of July.
Then for the first time in forever, Amarillo will have their own celebration again. Yes, we will have the great fireworks out at Hodgetown but we will have more than just that. I am all for more and more ways to celebrate our independence.
Amarillo's celebration will be Friday, July 5th, at a new event. Outdoor Amarillo is bringing us Independence Day +1 with live music, food trucks, and fireworks with a drone show.
So if you have to work on the 4th of July, you will have two other days to hopefully be able to catch a fireworks show in the area. Get out and enjoy all the celebrations if you can. There is never anything wrong with lots of fireworks. We are here for the show.
