Looking For Toddler Fun? Try Star Base Kids Space

When it comes to finding fun family activities in Amarillo, I have become sort of an expert. When my family moved to town last year, I made it my mission to get out and experience everything fun Amarillo has to offer. Bonus points if the place catered to toddlers.

Why We Wanted To Visit Star Base Kids Space

One of the places I was excited to have open up was Star Base Kids Space. It's a play space designed specifically for children. They cater to children ages 0–8. We have been wanting to give them a try since they opened in early May.

Finally, all the stars aligned (pun intended), and I had an afternoon to take my granddaughter there. She is four, so I thought this would be perfect. I knew they were located inside Amp'd at Townsquare. I did not know until we got there that there was a separate entrance to their place in the back of Amp'd.

When we got there, a birthday party was going on. It was great to see people already taking advantage of this location for parties. We walked in, and Laila immediately started playing.

A Play Area Designed For Younger Children

There are several play areas, but her favorite was the front room filled with glowing toys, a tent, and interactive activities. Everything in there glowed, and she loved it.

Science, Space, And Hands-On Fun

It didn't take Laila long to discover the astronaut space suits they had for the kids to dress up in. Once she found it, that was her costume for the rest of our visit. We spent about four hours there playing, so we definitely got our money's worth.

She loved the space lab, conducting experiments, and exploring items under the video microscopes. She loved riding the space vehicle around the outer play area. She loved the slides and the cars on the slide track.

It was definitely a lot of fun, and there are places for the parents to sit down and relax if the kids want to venture around on their own. There are toys for all ages and definitely a lot of chances to let their imaginations run wild.

The True Test: Did She Want To Go Back?

The icing on the cake was the next day when Laila asked if we could go back to the space place. She has talked about it several times since that day. Laila was impressed, and this Mimi can't wait to take her back.
