Don't let the size of Canyon fool you, they sure know how to throw a big party!

Every year people from all over the panhandle drive to the city of Canyon to celebrate Independence Day. The Canyon Chamber of Commerce always has a full day of events planned for families to enjoy.

Typically, the day starts off with a parade down 4th street followed by Fair on the Square and various activities throughout the down.

All of this is leading up to the grade finally "Kickin' it at Kimbrough" where you can enjoy live music and fireworks.

But now they are switching it up! This year you can start celebrating a day earlier with "Kickin' it in Canyon" on July 3rd. But don't worry, your family traditions won't be lost. They will still have the fun, food, and games you love but even better!

They have moved the event to the  First United Bank Center to hold more people because the Josh Abbott Band will be performing LIVE!

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets will be $10 in advance and $15 at the gate.
