The Click It or Ticket Campaign kicked off on May 21st and went until June 3rd. The Texas Department of Public Safety along with State Troopers and the Amarillo Police Department were out in full force.

The program is designed to make sure seat belts are being used while traveling inside of a motor vehicle, whether it be long distance travel or in-city travel. But does this campaign work and exactly how many tickets were handed out?

According to ConnectAmarillo.com "the Amarillo Police issued 315 seat belt citations, 31 child restrain citations, and 261 citations for "other violations" along with arrests and warrants served by officers working the assignment."
