I don't really need an excuse to drink beer, but when I do look for one, it's gonna be for a good cause. And let me tell you, I found a good one. Pondaseta Brewing is hitting us with a release party for their Park Road 5 Pale Ale on Thursday, April 29th. And get this, it's a release party that is also a benefit.

All proceeds from the event will go to 24 Hours In The Canyon. If you don't know about this event, let me catch you up because it's a good one. 24 Hours In The Canyon is the ONLY simultaneous 24-hour road and mountain bike event in the country. This event is committed to cancer survivorship and is one of the best non-profit events you'll find anywhere. This year's The event takes place June 5-6 this year and is sure to be a good time.

Speaking of a good time, let's get back to this beer. Pale ales are quite possibly my fave. I went down the IPA road for awhile, but something kept drawing me back to pales. Park Road 5 is a collaboration with 24 Hours In The Canyon and is hoppy like you expect a pale to be. It's offset with just a touch of tropical fruit from the hops that gives it a nice, smooth flavor.

Pondaseta will have this beautiful brew on tap (with some tasty snacks provided) as well as in 6 packs for you to take home and enjoy as well. However you wish to consume it, come on out and support such a wonderful event and let's enjoy a brew together!
