Luke Bryan Takes the Stage at ACM Awards to Reflect on How ‘Fast’ It All Goes
The song is a mid-tempo break from the kind of arena country Bryan is best known for. The singer was dressed simply in a black T-shirt and jeans, and took acoustic guitar in hand under the glare of a number of exposed Edison bulbs that lit the stage as he delivered a very strong vocal on the song, which ruminates on how quickly the various stages of life go by.
It's a feeling that Bryan can relate to very personally.
“'Fast' is a song that I got the opportunity to get in the room with Rodney Clawson and Luke Laird and I’m just so proud about how we used a simple word like ‘fast,’ we tied the verses in,” he says. “Every time I come home, my boys are bigger and are starting to throw me around the house a little more. One day I’ll snap my fingers and you wish you could have froze time a little bit. Anytime you can help people slow down and reflect on that and remember to take things in stride a little bit better, I think people love hearing that in a song.”
"Fast" is the sixth single from Bryan's Kill the Lights album.
Bryan co-hosted the awards again this year with good friend Dierks Bentley, and he was also nominated for the night's biggest award, Entertainer of the Year.
