Our local Meals on Wheels of Amarillo needs your help right now. The coronavirus has been hard on everyone, but it is especially hard on our seniors who depend on a service like Meals on Wheels. Another meal provider in the Amarillo are recently closed it's doors, and that has caused a surge in applications for folks that need a service like Meals on Wheels. With the increase, our local Meals on Wheels needs new volunteer drivers immediately. All they are asking is for your help once a week. If you can help deliver meals and fill routes, please call the local office at (806) 374-1521 or you can click here to fill out a volunteer application online.

Meals on Wheels of Amarillo was organized by twelve local churches in 1971 with 25 volunteers serving 14 elderly people. Today the program feeds over 260 elderly recipients through the support of over 300 volunteers. Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious meals to the homebound elderly and severely disabled who are unable to prepare adequate meals for themselves. Meals On Wheels provides senior care by helping the elderly remain in their own homes under the watchful eye of volunteers who care.
