Needing Money For College? The Satanic Temple Has Scholarships
I heard it all year long my senior year in high school. Scholarships are everywhere. You just have to dig.
So, let's say you didn't land a top spot in your class rankings. It happens. Would you accept money from The Satanic Temple to help pay for college?
TST is offering up two $500 scholarships to recent grads. They're asking for submissions of any creative medium answering one of two questions.
One asks students to describe "initiatives" they have undertaken that are in line with The Satanic Temples tenets and mission. The other asks students to describe a teacher who "crushed your spirit, undermined your self-confidence, and made you hate every minute you were forced to be in school."
They view school as a place children are forced to go, where they are stripped of free thought and empathy. They believe schools inflict depression, anxiety, and boredom on children.
Sounds like a lot of people I've heard talking about the STAAR tests.
For anyone who isn't in the know, The Satanic Temple has very little to do with the devil. There's no human sacrifice. I'm pretty sure some of them even own cats as pets and not for summoning the beast from the pit.
TST has been in the headlines a lot over the past several years tackling the issue of separation of church and state by suing for equal representation. It's not that they really want Baphomet on capital grounds. They just want to make sure that church and state stay separated.
A point that I figure most "friends of the constitution" would be aligned with.
If you have a kid that's creative, and could use $500 to help with school costs, here's the link to the scholarship page.
