Nolan Ryan In Amarillo At Macaroni Joes. He Ate What?

Ok sure, we get famous people to roll through town on occasion.

But how often do we THIS magnitude of a celebrity hit Amarillo?

The GOAT, Nolan Ryan popped into the 806 and sat down for one heck of a meal at our very own Macaroni Joe's.

If you don't know who Nolan Ryan is, you might have spent your entire life under a rock. I mean, he's quite possibly the best pitcher in the history of baseball. I grew up watching this man pitch, and keep in mind he'd already been in the league for 15 years by the time I was old enough to even know who he was.

This man had a DEVASTATING fastball, is the all-time leader in strikeouts with 5,714 in his illustrious 27-year career. He's also the all-time leader with SEVEN no-hitters. Those numbers will probably never be broken, especially in today's game.

So what was he doing in Amarillo? We're not 100% sure and can't confirm anything, but there was a rumor running around that one of his kids lives here. Regardless, one of the best to ever do it sat down for some grub at Mac Joes.

So what the the legend order up?

Of course he threw down one of the famous steaks! No report on whether he cleaned the plate off or not, we're guessing he did.

One thing of note, you'll notice that he autographed both of the plates containing his food. I'd imagine they'll be on display soon enough.
