The weather has been wild the last couple days in Amarillo and across the Texas panhandle. The picture above from the SONIC at 34th and Coulter is proof! It's all due a very large, extremely powerful and deepening area of low pressure that has passed over Colorado bringing that region of the Rockies and upper plains blizzard conditions.

Here in the panhandle a strong cold front from the storm triggered strong storms on Tuesday and left us with extreme winds for Wednesday. The National Weather Service triggered a High Wind Warning for all of Wednesday.

Although we are used to the wind, this is not your typical windy panhandle type day. Winds have been sustained at 40-50 mph with gusts forecasted as high as 75 mph. This has caused some big damage from Amarillo to all corners of the panhandle. Do you have a picture? Share it with us at braden.smith@townsquaremedia.com.
