Pistol Annies’ ‘Hell on Heels’ Debuts on Top of Billboard’s Country Albums Chart
Turns out those Pistol Annies are pretty good shots — after setting their sights on chart domination, they delivered with one of the year’s most impressive debuts.
The trio’s first album, ‘Hell on Heels,’ emerged on top of Billboard’s Country Album charts in its first week, moving enough units to also earn a number five debut on the overall Top 200.
“I cannot believe how much the fans have embraced us,” gushed band member Miranda Lambert on the Pistol Annies’ Facebook page. “We are so thrilled and even more inspired than ever. Thank you so much to our country fans. Pistol Annies are here to stay!”
“I am completely overwhelmed and humbled by the response of our wonderful fans. I couldn’t be more encouraged that country music is being embraced so completely,” added Lambert’s fellow Annie, Ashley Monroe. Reactions from the trio were rounded out by Angaleena Presley, who added, “Pistol Annies has been an organic, artistically driven project from the beginning and we are so proud that our couch dream has become critically and commercially successful. We are just three country girls singing about the truth and we are overjoyed by how well our album has been received.”
