Sleep In A Giant Pirate Ship Right Here in Texas
Looking for a fun trip this spring for the whole family? Just south of Fort Worth, is the North Texas Jellystone Park resort and campground. It's only a 5 1/2 hour drive from the Amarillo area. Jellystone Parks have been around since the late 1960's and were tied into the Yogi Bear cartoon brand. In most cases, the parks featured Yogi, Boo Boo, and the rest of the characters at over 75 campgrounds throughout the United States. The ship is 260 feet long, its masts are 85 feet tall, and it looks like something out of a storybook. It even has cannons with red lights to simulate the firing of cannonballs! This unique three-story lodging amenity contains ten different two-bedroom “Suite” Vacation Cabin units, each of which can sleep a family of six to eight people.
