Some Fun Toon Trivia From The Movie ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ [VIDEO]
It's been quite awhile since I have watched 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit,' so last night I curled up in bed and revisited this classic movie from 1988.
The movie was based on the book by Gary K. Wolf, 'Who Censored Roger Rabbit?'
Let's take a trip back to 1947 Los Angeles and check out some 'cool toon' facts from the movie.
Trivia Question:
Do you know which Voice Actor spent screen time with John Travolta in the 1970's?
- The only way that Cartoon characters from Warner Brothers were allowed in the movie was if they got equal screen time with the Disney characters.
- This was the most expensive film made in the 1980s.
- Actors who were considered for the role of Eddie Valiant included; Eddie Murphy (he turned down the role), Wallace Shawn, Chevy Chase (turned down the role) and Ed Harris.
- The producers first choice for Eddie Valiant was Bill Murray, but they could never get a hold of him. Murray, after finding out about this years later, said he would have done the role.
- Tim Curry auditioned for the role of Judge Doom, but the execs and producers felt his portrayal was 'too terrifying.'
- Even though Christopher Lloyd got the role of Judge Doom, another Christopher was approached first and turned it down. Christopher Lee.
- There were over 40 drafts of the script including ones that had Baby Herman and Jessica Rabbit as the villains.
- Even though they were not created until 1949, both Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner show up and the conclusion of the film (set in 1947).
- Paul Reubens (aka Pee Wee Herman) auditioned for the role of Roger Rabbit.
- In a very early version of the script it was discovered that Judge Doom killed Bambi's Mother.
